A few years ago I posted a
13 in 13 list and I finished quite a few of them. Now I'm going for 16 in 16. These are all in various stages of completion - hopefully I will get them all done and a picture posted here by Next Year.
- January Sunbonnet Sue
|
Sunbonnet Sue Hits the Slopes in January.
Completed January 5, 2016 after sitting in the UFO pile for at least 3 years. |
- February Sunbonnet Sue
|
February SunBonnet Sue Completed on January 30, 2016 after sitting in the UFO pile for at least 3 years - possibly longer |
- June Sunbonnet Sue
|
June SunBonnet Sue is part of the SunBonnet Sue Through the Year. This is the final piece of my collection after sitting in the UFO pile for 3 years or more. She is on her Honeymoon cruise. It is all machine worked and was completed May 16, 2016 |
- Attic Window Nativity Scene
- Craftsy Block of the Month
- Maxine Patriotic quilt
|
Maxine's America is made from a Panel showcasing Maxine's opinions of America and American society - very funny. Anyway the quilt is machine pieced and quilted. I completed it in June of 2016 and it will probably be gifted to a family member. |
- Flower Garden Quilt
|
The Flower Garden Quilt was started about 2 years ago as a quick, easy fun project. It was another one that got set aside in favor of a more urgent project and then more or less forgotten. I pulled it out this year and finished it on September 27, 2016. It is machine pieced and hand quilted and will probably be gifted to a family member at a later date. |
- Women of the Bible Quilt
|
Women of the Bible - the quilt is from a weekly online Bible Study and quilt group. Each block represents a different Woman of the Bible who we studied for the week. It took me nearly four years to totally complete the quilt. The blocks are a combination of hand and machine piecing and Applique and it is hand quilted. I completed it on June 3, 2016. |
- Flying Swallows Wall Hanging
|
Flying Swallows was a class I took back in October 2015. It gave me fits and when I got home I tossed it in a corner and tried to forget about it. But it was in the way of other projects and I didn't want to toss it so I buckled down and finished it on January 14, 2016. It is Machine Pieced using a Studio 180 La Moine Star tool and Machine quilted - practicing a meander stitch with my walking foot. |
- Row by Row Experience 2015
|
I started this quilt last June when they started the Row x Row shop hopl There are 18 rows on this quilt coming from 18 quilt ships in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri. It was a fun shop hop and fun to design. It is machine quilted, machine pieced/appliqued/embroidered. I completed it on June 1st, 2016. I may or may not collect some rows from the 2015 shop hop - if I do it will certainly be a lot less/ |
- Christmas Quilt
- Loyal Union Soldier Quilt
- Mission Quilt top for church
|
This is on my 16 in 16 list because I have had these 5 1/2 blocks sitting on the shelf in my quilt studio for at least 4 years, maybe 5. It was always intended as a Charity Quilt, but I never seemed to find the time to put the pieces together. I finally finished in on February 2, 2016. I will drop it off at the Church over the weekend for the ladies to tie it. |
- Play Mat quilt
I found this panel on one of my quilt shop hops several years ago and kept planning on making it up and just never got around to it. Finally I decided it needed to be done and given to some little boy who would enjoy it. The border is machine pieced and it is machine quilted. I finished it in September 2016.
15. Welcome Sampler
|
This is a very special piece with a special history that has been 50 years in the making. The center embroidery was made by my cousin Eileen Pugsley back in 1965 and given to me as a gift. It hung in my house for many years and then somehow got misplaced. I found it a while back and cleaned it up and decided to quilt it, but it got put on the back burner for more "important" projects. This year I decided it needed to be finished and displayed. I completed it on March 15, 2016 and it is hanging over the stairs in the entryway. |
