Projects Completed in 2014

Here are some of the projects I completed in 2014:

  1. Mini Log Cabin Wall Hanging

This was a kit I got when I was first trying to learn to Paper Piece.  I made one house -  had the technique and dropped the rest in the basket and forgot about it.  Decided it was time to finish the project and clear the basket
  1. I Spy Quilt
I remember playing I spy in the car when we would take "long" trips as a child - it passed the time.  So when I found this pattern for Jars I thought what fun - fill them with different things and make an I Spy Quilt for my Grandaughter.  This was completed in October of 2014
  2. SunBonnet Sue
SunBonnet Sue Through the Year - I started this quilt when I learned that my sister's SunBonnet Sue quilt got lost when we moved from Pennsylvania to California when she was 8.  The Quilt is Machine Pieced and Hand Quilted and was completed in January 2014
  3. Patriotic Log Cabin
This is one of those quilts with a long history.  I started it back in the early 1990's when I was on a quilt as you go kick.  I never finished it.  Then when our basement flooded so bad a few years ago and we were cleaning things out so the waterproofing crew could come in and do their thing, I found a box on a shelf in the utility room.  It was the completed blocks - ready to assemble.  I completed it in January 2014
  4. Underground RailRoad Sampler
The entire notion of the Underground railroad and the possibility of quilts used as signal flags has always fascinated me.  So when I found this quilt sampler and the stories of the blocks, I simply had to make it.  It is machine pieced/appliqued and hand quilted and completed in May 2014.  It was Gifted to my Brother.
  5. Spring Flower Garden
  6. SunBonnet Sue Singing in the Rain
